EMDR Therapy Intensives

Find lasting relief in a matter of days, not months or years.

You’re ready for something to change.

You’re tired of carrying the weight of anxiety, self-doubt, and past trauma. Maybe it’s something specific like an accident, panic attacks, a phobia, a painful experience that still lingers, or an upcoming stressor that keeps your nervous system on edge. Maybe you’ve already tried weekly therapy and every strategy to “heal,” but progress still feels slow and fragmented.

An EMDR intensive creates space for focused, meaningful work in a condensed period of time. Instead of stopping and starting week to week, we can stay with what matters most and fully process what’s been keeping you stuck. This allows for deeper shifts in a shorter amount of time, helping you move toward lasting relief, calm, and clarity.

What is an Intensive?

An intensive is a longer therapy session or a series of sessions designed to help you make meaningful progress in a condensed timeframe. Instead of spreading your work over weeks or months, we focus deeply and intentionally over a full-day or multi-day format so you can start feeling lighter, clearer, and more like yourself in a matter of days. Intensives can take the form of a half-day, three half-days, or a weekend, giving you flexibility based on your goals and needs.

This allows you to:

  • Go deeper without being rushed. Spend focused, uninterrupted time with your inner parts, working through stuck patterns and trauma in a safe, supportive space.

  • Stay fully focused on your goals. No weekly check-ins or re-orienting, just concentrated work on what matters most to you.

  • Maintain momentum and clarity. Make the most of your focused time, staying in the deep work and moving through stuck points more quickly.

  • Save time in the long run. By compressing the work, you often need fewer sessions overall while achieving meaningful results.

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing or overwhelming experiences that can show up as anxiety, triggers, negative beliefs, or feeling stuck in old emotional patterns. Instead of talking through every detail, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements or tapping) to help your nervous system reprocess stored memories so they feel less charged and more distant over time. This allows the emotional intensity to soften and creates more space for calm, clarity, and confidence. Learn more about EMDR in this blog post.

Who are Intensives For?

Intensives may be a good fit if you:

  • Have a specific issue, memory, or pattern you’re ready to work through

  • Prefer focused, goal-directed work instead of ongoing weekly sessions

  • Want deep, meaningful healing without months of weekly appointments

  • Have been in therapy before but want to go deeper

  • Do not have time to commit to regular ongoing therapy sessions

  • Feel stuck even after trying all the things

How Can an Intensive Help?

An intensive is designed to help you process trauma, release stuck patterns, and gain insight into yourself. It’s a chance to work safely and intentionally with the parts of you that have been holding you back, so you can feel tangible relief more quickly than traditional weekly therapy. With an intensive, you can:

  • Process trauma and emotional blocks. EMDR helps reduce the emotional charge of memories and experiences, supporting healing on both a mental and somatic level.

  • Understand your inner system. Intensives can help you connect with and care for the different parts of yourself, including the ways your body carries unprocessed emotions.

  • Experience relief and calm. Process intense emotions safely and let go of what’s been weighing you down.

  • Identify and break repetitive patterns. Gain insight into and work through the behaviors, thought cycles, and body-based responses that have kept you stuck.

  • Build confidence in your healing. See and feel changes happening in a matter of days, creating momentum and clarity that lasts.

  • Live with greater ease and clarity. Feel more grounded, present, and in tune with yourself every day.

What Happens During an Intensive?

Step 1: Submit an Intensive Inquiry Form

Start by filling out a brief intensive inquiry form. This helps me understand what you’ve been carrying, what you’re hoping to shift, and whether an intensive might be a good fit. After reviewing your responses, I’ll reach out to schedule a complimentary 20-minute consultation where we can connect, answer any questions, and talk through whether this approach feels right for you.

Step 2: 60-Minute Intake Session

If we decide to move forward, we’ll begin with a 60-minute intake session. During this time, we’ll explore your history, current challenges, and goals in more depth, while also assessing readiness for intensive work.

This session helps us determine whether an intensive is the best next step, or if another approach would better support you right now.

Step 3: Schedule Your Intensive & Receive Your Workbook

Once you decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your intensive and secure your spot with a deposit.

You’ll also receive a personalized workbook designed to help you clarify priorities, set intentions, and begin reflecting on the patterns and experiences you’d like to focus on. This allows you to come into your intensive feeling more grounded, clear, and prepared.

Step 4: 60-Minute Preparation Session

Before your intensive, we’ll meet for a 60-minute preparation session. Together, we’ll identify specific targets or themes, further flesh out your goals, strengthen internal resources, and create a clear, supportive plan for your intensive. We’ll also review your workbook and talk through what to expect so you can feel as comfortable and prepared as possible going in.

Step 5: The Intensive

Your intensive can be structured as a half-day, three half-days, or weekend, depending on your needs and goals. In this focused time, we’ll dive deeply into IFS-informed EMDR work: processing trauma, connecting with your inner parts, and moving through stuck patterns in a safe, supportive environment. This concentrated approach creates space for meaningful healing and progress in a shorter timeframe.

Step 6: 60-Minute Follow-Up Session

After your intensive, we’ll meet for a follow-up session to support integration. This is a space to process what came up, make sense of your experience, and reinforce the progress you’ve made. We’ll also talk through next steps so you feel supported as you move forward.

You’ll also receive curated resources, tools, and reflections to help you continue integrating your work and maintaining momentum. From here, you may choose to transition into ongoing therapy, schedule future intensives, or continue applying what you’ve gained in your day-to-day life.
