Therapy that feels
authentic
Your mind is always moving, replaying, planning, worrying. Even when everything seems fine on the outside, it can feel like your thoughts are running the show.
In therapy with me, you’ll have a space to slow down, understand what’s driving your anxiety, and start feeling calm, clear, and confident.
Get To Know Me
I’m Michaela Zoppa, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. I work with women who are used to holding it all together, even when it feels like too much.
If you ever feel like you’re the one keeping everything together on the outside while struggling inside, I see you. I know what it’s like to keep showing up, carry the weight quietly, and push through with a smile even when it feels like you’re barely holding it together. Here, you don’t have to do that. You’re not alone.
Healing doesn’t come from trying harder or being stronger. It happens through safety, connection, and being fully seen. In therapy with me, you can show up as you are. I bring warmth, curiosity, and authenticity to create a space where you can exhale and begin to feel more like yourself again.
As a Christian, my faith gives me a deep sense of hope and shapes how I see the worth and resilience in every person. I never impose my beliefs, but I understand how important it can be to have a therapist who “gets it” when it comes to your values and beliefs. If you’d like to incorporate your faith into therapy, I welcome that. If faith isn’t part of your story, I fully respect and honor your journey just as it is.
Outside of therapy, you’ll likely find me:
Hiking with my husband and our dog
Savoring a slow morning with coffee and a good book
Cooking something delicious
Enjoying a board game or puzzle
These are some of the little things that bring me joy. I grew up in Houston, spent some time in Illinois, and now I’m grateful to call Colorado home.
Who I Help
You’re often seen as strong, capable, and put-together, but inside, you feel overwhelmed, anxious, and unsure of your own worth. You may be successful and driven, yet underneath it all, you’re exhausted and burnt out. You’ve spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you’ve lost touch with what you need. Even when you try to rest, it feels impossible to relax.
You overthink everything, fear making the wrong decision, or constantly brace for something to go wrong. Maybe you’re carrying emotional pain from childhood, past relationships, or experiences that left you feeling dismissed or “not good enough.” Maybe burnout or emotional abuse has left you wondering, “Is it always going to feel this way?”
It doesn’t have to. You can feel better, and I can help you get there.
Together, we’ll explore the beliefs and experiences that have shaped you and create space for something new: a life where you feel more grounded, more confident, and more like yourself again.
How I Work
My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and relational—meaning we work together as a team. I use trauma-informed, evidence-based tools like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help you get beneath the surface and address the root of what’s going on, not just manage symptoms.
My goal is to create a space where you feel truly safe, seen, and supported. We’ll explore the parts of you that feel overwhelmed or afraid and start to unravel the beliefs that keep you stuck. We’ll work on setting boundaries without guilt, caring for yourself with more compassion, and stepping into a fuller, more vibrant life.
